If you want to check out at least 60 vintage scooters, some of them 50 years old then go check out the Shasta District Fair grounds. The whole thing started two days ago and it will finish by next Sunday.

The California Cushman Club includes scooter games, a parts swaps meet and a barbecue. On Sunday the scooters will roll out for breakfast at Hometown Buffet in Redding.

The Cushman scooter was manufactured for 30 years in Lincoln, Nebraska. It all started in 1936 and during the war, the Army hired Cushman to make 15,000 scooters for them. The Scooters were fairly cheap and easy to fix. Lots of kids used to purchase one, just for $20 to $50. Which was a lot more in gas back then than it is now.

So why not get a Cushman and attend to such a festivity? Switch from your modern scooter to the Cushman for a change of perspective.
