Wonderful World of Scooters

If you want to check out at least 60 vintage scooters, some of them 50 years old then go check out the Shasta District Fair grounds. The whole thing started two days ago and it will finish by next Sunday.
The California Cushman Club includes scooter games, a parts swaps meet and a barbecue. On Sunday the scooters will roll out for breakfast at Hometown Buffet in Redding.
The Cushman scooter was manufactured for 30 years in Lincoln, Nebraska. It all started in 1936 and during the war, the Army hired Cushman to make 15,000 scooters for them. The Scooters were fairly cheap and easy to fix. Lots of kids used to purchase one, just for $20 to $50. Which was a lot more in gas back then than it is now.
So why not get a Cushman and attend to such a festivity? Switch from your modern scooter to the Cushman for a change of perspective.

I have an old Cushman ELECTRIC Mailster for sale. Box has been removed. It’s not currently running but I purchased some used Trojan deepcycle batteries that I have been keeping charged. According to “experts” I know it shouldn’t take much to get going.
Apparently they didn’t make too many electrics. I’d like it to go to someone that would keep it green but it’s their choice. All my friends (hot roddrs) want to put a motorcycle engine in it. $500. It’s located in Vina which is halfway between Red Bluff and Chico.

Hello,
I am at the City of Redding’s Visitor’s Center and we are getting questions about the annual Cushman’s Ride to Anderson. Is the event happening this year and if so, dates and times as well as contacts would be appreciated!
Thank you.
