Although not many scooter riders are aware of it, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation is beginning to offer specialized scooter safety sessions. With so many people looking to save money on gas and commuting expenses, and with scooter sales spiking everywhere, the MSF is trying to get ahead of the curve by rolling out the specialized training classes in different areas of the U.S. throughout the coming year. Scooter riders who cannot locate a specialized scooter safety class can still take advantage of the MSF Rider Course, (originally for motorcycles).

The MSF Rider Course has been available for years and usually qualifies riders who earn the MSF certificate for lower insurance premiums. (Check the regulations in your state to be sure.)  To sign up for a class near you or to request additional information, call the MSF at 800-446-9227 or visit their website at www.msf-usa.org.
