Want to save money on gas? Want to get your dog out and about? Now you can do both. Bored Oregonian dog walker Mark Schuette has come up with a scooter design that is completely dog-powered. Any healthy young medium to large sized dog can be harnessed to any passive trike or bicycle with Schuette’s add on adapter, creating a dog powered scooter that is easy on the environment, fun to ride, and great for your dog.
Schuette uses a Willy Scooter because it is lightweight, sturdy, holds a rider up to 300 pounds, and has 20 inch wheels and quick release brakes. The Willy Scooter runs $305. To adapt the scooter to your dog, you attach Mark’s special harness for an additional $250. Multiple harnesses can by hitched to one scooter to accommodate more than one pooch.
