Piaggio MP3

Piaggio MP3

Piaggio’s MP3 is a scooter you won’t soon forget. Despite the cute name, the MP3 looks like a cross between a 500cc scooter and one of those monsters from the movie Alien. Essentially a large scooter with two wheels on the front (the exact reverse of what you might expect), the MP3 takes the concept of a trike and turns it on its head. The two front wheels give the MP3 more stability than either a scooter or a motorcycle, yet it turns and leans with surprising nimbleness. Fun and easy to ride on city streets, the 90 mph top speed and Tom Tom navigation system make the MP3 a great choice for over the road trips.

The Piaggio MP3 is rapidly building a cult following among scooter and motorcycle enthusiasts alike, but it is still new enough to turn lots of heads while you tool around town on it. Despite its hefty appearance, city mileage averages around 60 MPG, still way more fuel efficient that the smallest sub-compact car and lots more fun. The Piaggio MP3 has an MSRP of right around $8899.
