2009 Art Vespa winners at Design Indaba Expo

The 2009 Art Vespa winners will be announced at the Design Indaba Expo that is taking place next week, 27 February, in Cape Town – South Africa.

In 2008 the quality of the entries was pretty good as you can see on the image, which got the first place and was made by Rory Allan.

In case you didn’t understand yet, the Art Vespa contest is pretty basic: create a great design for a Vespa LX150, and in the end you might take a vespa home with your own design.

The brief called for simple, clever and bold ideas that complimented the iconic Vespa shape. It requested that designers make use of the same principles of package design or billboard layout as they work best when branding or wrapping a Vespa with a logo.
