While everyone today is trying to hold off investments until the economies show some signs of life once again, Suzuki Motorcycle India is currently making studies for its future with a mid-segment bike.

“We are planning a bike in between the 100cc and 125cc models. The segment holds huge opportunities and is yet to be tapped properly,” Rakesh Kumar, zonal head (north and east) of the company, said.

Suzuki may also launch a scooter, depending on growth and demand. It plans to increase production to 4 lakh units per annum in the next 2-3 years from 1.75 lakh units.

The company already launched the GS 150R premium bike just recently. The bike is priced at Rs 60,260, ex-showroom.
