Scooter Store Gives Free Scooter to Ocala Teenager
Posted by Brian | Scooter news | Posted on March 24th, 2009
Marinna Shyrigh, the teenager from Ocala scheduled to have a heart transplant, was the beneficiary of a free scooter courtesy of the Scooter Store. On hand at the benefit from The SCOOTER Store’s Orlando operations were Distribution Center Manager Brian Ozer and Director of Health Care Relations John Marshall who surprised Marinna, 15, with a four-wheel GoGo scooter.
The scooter was donated under The SCOOTER Store’s “Gift of Mobility” program, which provides mobility equipment and assistance to those who do not have the resources or insurance to obtain power wheelchairs and scooters.
Marinna was born with a congenital heart defect that has caused many hospitalizations and surgeries since her birth. She is almost entirely dependent on supplemental oxygen and can walk or wheel herself in her manual chair for only short distances before needing rest and more oxygen. Her last hope is a heart transplant.
