We are all aware these days that a lot of people are turning to scooters for alternative transportation. The reason here is because scooters are wiser for the buck when you talk about fuel consumption. Others have turned to electric scooters which point them towards electrical power. Apparently, scooters seem to be the ultimate solution to get through the times. However one question should likewise be thrown; are they safe?

Remember that when you are using a car, the chances of bodily harm is lower compared to a scooter which practically leaves you exposed to any form of collision. In fact, one small collision may merit you more than just bruises. Some have encountered broken bones or even internal hemorrhage in worst case scenarios. Helmets and pads can protect you from minor accidents but what if you encounter a major one like perhaps a speeding car?

This is not meant to discourage scooter riding. But scooters were made for neighborhood type of transportation rather than the streets. While we are in hard times, a person can always be careful. But look at the extreme situations and you may find that scooters may pose as a life threatening alternative rather than a financial saving one.

In the end, perhaps scooter use is all about knowing where to use them. But to use them in streets is something that one should really consider a lot.
