For the people who are wary of electric scooters due to their lack of speed, here is something that can cheer you up a bit. The X Rider gets an upgrade, which will now push the X Rider to over 6KWH [60AH x 4.25 volts x 24 batteries], making it what we believe to be the most powerful electric propulsion system for a motorcycle commercially available.
The news gets even better. Because of the higher wattage, the X Rider now qualifies under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for a $3,334 plug-in electric vehicle tax credit.
This upgrade would bring the net cost of the X Rider down to $4,665 and could be even less depending on the owner’s state of residence.

Unfortunately motorcycles are limited to a 10% tax credit. The $3,334 number would only be applicable to a plug-in electric motor vehicle, which the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act defines as having “at least 4 wheels.”
