One of the best ways to get your hands on a quirky motorized bicycle is to modify an existing bike. Zoom Bicycles is offering a range of bolt-on 49cc and 80cc 2-stroke motors. Expect maximum speeds between 30 km/h and 50 km/h, depending on the engine and overall weight. The fuel economy is near 150 mpg, though these little motors require 89 Octane fuel premixed with 2-stroke synthetic motorcycle oil. The built-in clutch permits you to use your bike as you normally would, however the engine kit adds around another 19 lbs to the frame.

To start the engine, simply release the clutch lever once you are underway. A $19.95 pull-start option is also available. Some of the items included in every Zoom Bicycles kit are the engine, 2 L teardrop fuel tank, muffler, clutch assembly and all the necessary mounting brackets, gaskets and hardware, to name a few.
