The XR3 Three Wheel Plug-In Hybrid

The XR3 is a three-wheeled plug-in hybrid that reaches 125 mpg on diesel power alone, 225 mpg on combined diesel and electric power. It can carry two-passengers and it weighs just 1480 pounds. Offers up the choice of operating mode: C diesel-only, battery-electric-only, or hybrid. The operator selects mode by flipping a pair of switches. The li-ion battery pack lasts up to 40 miles.
According to latest company info: “The vehicle will arrive at our prototype facilities on the outskirts of Cleveland in a few weeks, and then it’ll go out to the Center for Automotive Research where they’ll run tests, computer-model the results, and do various changes to optimize the power train so we can freeze the design for production.”
