If there are people who need to be looked up to, it would be the war veterans. Though finished in rendering their service for the country, bear in mind that not all of them are lucky enough to come back in one piece. Some may have lost their legs, sacrificing their mobility and now relegated to wheelchairs. But that is not stopping them from showing off their competitive nature.

In fact, they are competing in this event, the 29th National Veterans Wheelchair games that is sponsored by Health Net Federal Services. The event is the largest annual wheelchair sports event in the world, attracting more than 500 military veterans who use wheelchairs due to spinal cord injuries, amputations or certain neurological problems.

The event is scheduled for July 13 to 18 in Spokane, Washington.
