Bajaj Making Profits from More Expensive Bikes

Posted by Brian | Business, Scooter news | Posted on July 16th, 2009

Who says we are in a recession? In these times and age, one would think that people would start staying away from pricey bikes or vehicles. But apparently Bajaj Auto Ltd. believes too much that their bikes deserve their prices. With the Pulsar among their touted bikes, the company has even reported a big profit jump from five quarters of selling, a bright spot that many companies would eagerly want to experience on their own.

The company boosted sales of ‘Pulsar’ and other models with engines bigger than 150 cc, helping lift operating margins in the quarter, Bajaj Auto said. In June, Bajaj Auto sold 42,000 Pulsar motorcycles compared with an average of 28,000 units sold during last year

The company rose 5.3 percent to 1,147.3 rupees, the highest since the shares were re-listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange on May 26 last year.
