Flossie the Motorcycle Riding Robot
Posted by Brian | Bikes, Business, Gas Scooters | Posted on July 21st, 2009
We have seen a lot of test dummies used for vehicle and motorcycle testing. And apparently, Castrol is in need of one to help address the various tests for their engine oil, much of which has something to do with the temperature levels which may not necessarily be good for humans.
In comes Flossie, a robot that acts as the modern day guinea pig for testing. With Flossie, areas such as human harm are taken away while tests are being done. This is a wiser way of making sure that tests like the one from Castrol, are being done extensively under severe conditions to make sure that end-users are able to bank on reliable machines using the maximum tolerance capable and adjusting as needed for the human user.
Flossie can be fitted onto any bike or scooter and comes equipped with a self-learning mode that lets him know the vehicle’s gear change pattern, clutch feel, and throttle response.
