In an effort to maintain a realistic prospectus, Piaggio has cut its revenue goal for 2012. This is because of the continued revenue losses it has seen in recent years. There have been reported decreases of as much as 7.2 percent from 2007 to 2008.

In an effort to keep up with scooter revenue and to maintain status the company is looking to increase sales in India and Vietnam. These are two of the areas where growth is expected to occur over the next four years. They have already started this by opening a new Vespa plant in Vietnam in order to spark scooter sales.
