Posted by Brian | Business, Concept, Electric Scooters | Posted on July 28th, 2009
With scooters becoming more and more ideal for the Indian market, TVS has announced that they are set to unveil high-capacity gearless scooters in the next three months. The new line of scooters are aimed at the women and lower income groups. Scooters account for 15% of the 7.4 million a year two-wheeler market in the country, dominated by gearless models.
Pegged to aid the growing need for wiser transport needs, TVS currently sells the Scooty Pep+, Streak and Teenz brands in the sub-100cc scooter segment, in addition to its motorcycles, including Flame and Apache.

I would not be too sure with the scooters in India!
Not know the worlds cheapest car has come in to public eye!
yes well i still think scooters will play a mahor roll in developing countries
Scooters versus motorbikes, in India are still the common man’s main mode of transporting goods or for marketing. With the added advantage of having a stepney unlike motorbikes, it makes great sense to own a scooter. With highly congested Indian city roads with no parking spaces and the introduction of the Nano, I can only see the sales of scooters going up.
