The Rodem: Future Electric Mobility Scooter Option

Posted by Brian | Concept, Electric Scooters | Posted on August 28th, 2009

Rodem Wheelchair ConceptThey are coined as wheelchairs by the Veda International Robot Research and Development Centre but with the growing trend of electric mobility scooters, don’t be surprised if you see some people getting one for themselves as an alternate means of walking or moving along in style.

The Rodem is said to be the future replacement of wheelchairs. By that you know the company is targeting the elderly or the physically impaired. It is obviously being run on electricity, something that makes robotics click. Users ride astride the four-wheeled Rodem rather than sitting on it. It is steered with a joystick and has motorbike-style handles while the knees and chest rest on cushions for the needed support.

The setup seems quite familiar with the modern mobility scooters that have been coming out. Though no price has been revealed, you can bet that this future electric-powered wheelchair will cost you a bundle!
