As the scooter demands continue to soar, Yamaha seems to be looking at focusing on a specific market. And that market looks like the female portion as they are reportedly gearing up to release a gearless scooter that carries a sporty and stylish look built on an existing model.

Yamaha will be aiming to sell over 200,000 units annually in the next five years and the said scooter will be placed along the ranks of the Hero Honda Pleasure, TVS Scooty and Honda Activa. After adding 100 dealers last year, the company plans to add another 150 outlets in 2009, taking the total to 550 across India.
