Looking to get into scootering but don’t want to drop near $1,000 for your first bike? Well, there are alternatives.

One such alternative that I have found beneficial is buying a cheap gas powered scooter off eBay, vehicles commonly known as gopeds although that is the brand name of a high quality manufacturer of such vehicles. These scooters range between $150 - $500 and feature engines around the 50cc mark. Sure, they wont’ go much higher than 25mph but they will definitely introduce you to the concept of zipping around on a small vehicle with two wheels.

However, if you do choose one of these cheaper scooters you’re going to have to accept that the less you spend the lower quality product you are going to get. This shouldn’t be a huge problem as you would just be using this vehicle to introduce yourself to scootering.
