Full Sized Electric Road Bike Spotted in New Zealand
Posted by Brian | Bikes, Electric Scooters | Posted on January 11th, 2010
Thanks to the efforts of a Paraparaumu native, New Zealand may yet be home to the first full-sized electric road-legal bike. The new bike is lighter sans the old petrol engine and can go at a range of up to 150 KM.
Iain Jerret reportedly spend a year converting the bike, fitting 27 batteries and an electric motor, controller and battery management system into the area the engine and exhaust system had been. The result was a quiet, silent moving emission-free road bike.
