Kids who have gotten used to riding without helmets are in for a surprise soon. Especially for the youth based in Fort Collins, a new bill is in the works to require bikers, scooters and even skateboarders to wear a helmet for their own safety.

Kids caught violating this bill will not be fined and punished. Police will warn violators aged 2 to 17 about the risks of not wearing a helmet and advise them where to get one, if necessary. In short, the intent is to warn but what about the erring kids who simply want to get into trouble?

Being handicapped is no excuse for anyone to get drunk while technically driving. Such was the case for Nigel Lee Drummond who was caught on CCTV drunk while swerving through a town center. He was three times over the legal drink-drive limit.

Though the scooter does only 8 MPH, it can still be dangerous to pedestrians. Drummond admitted the charges hurled against him and was given a six-month conditional charge. He was also ordered to pay £65.
